Age UK Wirral, Liverpool & Sefton is an independent local charity supporting older people across the Wirral through advice, wellbeing activity and practical community-based services. With roots going back to 1948, the organisation positions itself around helping people live well, stay independent and feel more connected in later life.
The charity offers a broad range of support including information and advice, out-of-hospital support, home and communities services, digital inclusion, wellbeing services, charity shops and a programme of health and activity sessions. Its advice service helps adults on issues such as housing, care, debt, benefits and entitlements, while wider services are designed to reduce loneliness, support independence and help prevent avoidable hospital admissions.
Based at the Devonshire Resource Centre in Birkenhead, Age UK Wirral, Liverpool & Sefton also highlights the scale of its local impact, with around 170 staff and more than 700 volunteers supporting older people across the borough. The charity presents itself as a trusted and long-established local organisation combining practical support, community activity and specialist advice to help people make the most of later life.
