Birkenhead School

Birkenhead School is a long-established independent day school on the Wirral, providing education for boys and girls from nursery through to sixth form. Founded in 1860, the school combines a strong academic tradition with a broad co-curricular offer, and positions itself around helping pupils develop confidence, curiosity, character and a lifelong love of learning.

The school offers education across Early Years, Prep, Seniors and Sixth Form, with a curriculum supported by pastoral care, leadership pathways and a wide range of enrichment opportunities. Its website highlights provision in areas such as music, sport, drama, academic extension, careers support, wraparound care and trips and visits, reflecting a rounded approach to pupil development beyond the classroom.

Birkenhead School also places emphasis on community, heritage and future-facing education, with opportunities designed to prepare pupils for progression through school and beyond. The school presents itself as a values-led learning environment where academic achievement, personal growth and wider participation are all central to the pupil experience.
